520 _a.As we know, Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) are one the main rising issues globally. With its progress in Asia being progressively slower than in Europe, a good case study would be to consider Vietnam. Known as a developing country and formal member of World Trade Organization (WTO), Vietnam brought within itself many great economic opportunities. As with any new growth and development there came about many new challenges that had to be faced, and one would assume that Vietnam should endorse and take care of the growing need for CSR.The fact that a large number of companies operating in Vietnam suffer from a lack of knowledge and understanding regarding all matters on Corporate Social Responsibilities is “reflected in their inability to see the big picture and grow further into “Green Businesses, Previously, many companies throughout Vietnam through a lack of training and understanding placed a large amount of pressure on the environment, this in tern led to elevated levels of environmental pollution such as was the case of Vedan Company, Thanh Cong Company, Sabeco Song Lam Company and Tung Khuang Company. Had these companies been exposed earlier to the concept of Corporate Social Responsibilities the outcome would have been significantly better and longer term sustainable benefits would have been enjoyed. The objective into this research is to monitor the effects by Vietnamese companies, their continued commitment to do business by behaving ethically and contributing to the economic development whilst improving the quality of life of the work force, their families and communities, last but not least, probably the most important, the direct impact on the environment that we live and breath every day.
